MRCP PACES The Medical (Therapy, Education and Research) Act (MTERA)
  • MTERA is an opt-in scheme
  • Allows people aged at least 18 to pledge any organ or body part for transplant, education or research after they pass away
  • Body parts may be used for:
    • Transplant and treatment
    • Education
    • Research
  • Any person aged at least 18 of any nationality may opt-in
  • Family members may not withdraw an opt-in to MTERA
  • However, donations may be made by the family members when the patient passes away
